The Thames Business Association Business Forum

Date: Monday 13th February Time: 5:30 – 7pm Place: Thames Civic Centre NB Refreshments will be served, therefore, RSVP’s are essential by C.O.B. Friday 10th February The purpose of the Forum is to:

  1. Have Mayor Len Salt and Aileen Lawrie, Chief Executive of TCDC, update us on the:

  2. response to the Civil Emergency

  3. engagement Council has had with Central Government and progress to date

  4. latest news on the road network

  5. Receive an update from Destination Hauraki Coromandel on current initiatives

  6. Hear from businesses about your own ideas/suggestions of how Thames/Kopu and all businesses in the Thames Ward can come through this latest challenge (and possibly benefit from it)

  7. Agree a mechanism for prioritising/quantifying the suggestions with a view to developing a practical and sustainable action plan

Our goal is to come up with practical, workable ideas. TCDC is currently well placed with Central Government to get airtime for suggestions which would require Central Government support. We’re providing a template for your suggestions and these will be presented at the Forum, provided they're received by Sunday 12th February. Please click on this link: And email to: manager@thamesbusiness.co.nz NB If time permits, you may have an opportunity to present your idea(s) at the Forum. It is helpful, however, to receive as many submissions beforehand so we can present them to the attendees for discussion. We wish to invite all interested business owners/operators in the Thames Ward to participate in this Forum, so please forward this invitation to a business owner/operator who may not already be a member of the TBA. NB If the severe weather event forecast for Monday causes us to postpone the Business Forum, we will send notification via this channel (Mail Chimp) and Facebook.
